The value and purpose of church membership

Matthew 16:13-20

A. How did this sermon engage your mind?
Thought a lot about my own church membership and how I approach it.
B. Were you persuaded by the sermon’s main point?
C. Was the passage adequately explained?
The first part of the text was shaky in its application to the rest of the sermon

IV. Gospel Tone (1-4):4

A. Was Christ preached in this sermon?
B. Was the Gospel made clear as a challenge to unbelievers?
C. Were the Gospel and its benefits preached to challenge, comfort, and encourage Christians?
Would love to see some of the joys and benefits of church membership
V. Communication

The best point was explaining the importance of not attending a church just because of the things you like about it. That made it very real and made me think about my motivation for being a part of this body.

I offer the following advice and suggestions to the preacher that he might continue to grow in effectiveness as a preacher:
